NEW READING NOVEMBER 2024

The Novelda Public Library continues with the Reading Club, aimed at students or anyone interested in practicing English with a level A2/B1 or higher to read and comment on the books lent by the Library.

The reading proposed for the month of November is “The Early Stories” and it is now available for loan at the General Library of Novelda. You just need to have the reader card of the Public Library Network of the Valencian Community (free).

Written when Truman Capote was in his teens and twenties, these recently-discovered short stories give a rare insight into an American icon. Tales of disappointed lovers, ageing spinsters, hoboes and murderous housewives, of yearning, poverty, despair, compassion, wit and wonder, they show us the boy from Alabama who became one of the twentieth century’s most celebrated literary voices.

Each participant will read and listen to the proposed book individually and at the meeting they will be able to ask, comment and debate in English anything they wish.

The meetings will be on the last Tuesday of each month at 6 pm at the Novelda Culture House.

The sessions will be guided by Pepe Requena.

Ideal for intermediate level English learners looking to improve or practise their English. The book is full of useful vocabulary that is carefully graded and easy to understand; It also comes with audio, so you can listen to the story while you read.

If you want to join our READING CLUB, contact us through Facebook, Instagram, email (biblioteca@novelda.es) or phone 965604650.
