📚🇬🇧New reading «Good readers», February 2024.🇬🇧 📚
🗣️The Novelda Public Library begins the year with a reading proposal in English, aimed at students or anyone interested in practicing English with a level A2/B1 or higher to read and comment on the books that the Library lends.
👉🏻The book for the month of February is “Brewster’s Millions,” a novel written by George Barr McCutcheon available for loan at the Novelda General Library. You just need to have the reader card of the Public Library Network of the Valencian Community (free).
Synopsis:
The novel revolves around Montgomery Brewster, a young man who inherits 1 million dollars from his rich grandfather. Shortly after, a rich uncle who hated Brewster’s grandfather will leave Brewster 7 million dollars, but only under the condition that he keeps none of his grandfather’s money. Brewster is required to spend every penny of his grandfather’s million within one year. If Brewster meets these terms, he will earn the full 7 million; if he fails, he remains penniless…
👥Each participant will read and listen to the proposed book individually and at the meeting they will be able to ask, comment and debate in English anything they wish.
🗣️The meetings will be on the last Tuesday of each month at 6 pm at the Novelda Culture House and the sessions will be guided by Pepe Requena.
🔝Ideal for intermediate level English learners looking to improve or practise their English. The book is full of useful vocabulary that is carefully graded and easy to understand; It also comes with audio, so you can listen to the story while you read.
