? The Public Library brings the Reading Club in English to you again this year.

?? Perfect for intermediate and more confident learners of English looking to improve or practise their English. The book is filled with useful vocabulary that is carefully graded and easy to understand. It also comes with audio, so that you can read and listen to the story at the same time.

? The meetings take place at the Novelda Public Library (C/ Jaume II, 3) on the last Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. It is a totally free activity and the book is lent by the library, you only need to have a library card and be very keen!

?? This month’s book is already available at the Library. Each reader will borrow and read it individually at home in order to be able to comment on it at the monthly meeting conducted by Pepe Requena. The first meeting will be Tuesday 25 October.

? We will start with the book «The Scarlet Letter» by Nathaniel Hawthorne.

Scarlet is the colour of sin, and the letter ‘A’ stands for ‘Adultery’.

In the 1600s, in Boston, Massachusetts, love was allowed only between a husband and a wife. A child born outside marriage was a child of sin. Hester Prynne must wear the scarlet letter on her dress for the rest of her life…
